Valentine's Day Flash Back

Ryan and I have been together since 2007, which means by now there would be many memorable romantic Valentine's together, right? Well, I'm not really much of a romantic or big on lovey dovey surprises. I normally don't even know how to react on situations as such.

We went through 7 Valentine's before we got married, but I don't think I got the order right because I am really forgetful....booo......

There was the time we had a lovely cozy candle light dinner at Moussandra – Mediterranean & Tapas Restaurant @ KL Plaza, Bukit Bintang. Once I was in Singapore while Ryan was back in KL during Valentine's because I was spending Chinese New Year with my relatives there. Then there was the year that I was sick with acute bronchitis where all I could eat was steam pork or fish with soup or porridge for a month!

Not forgetting a large group Valentine's/Birthday dinner at Ole Ole Bali @ Solaris. Refreshing Mojito's at WiP Bangsar. Our first home cooked meal together which was my spicy mushroom Aglio Olio spaghetti and Ryan's baked salmon with asparagus and lemon. Last year we decided to try out a new restaurant just opposite Ryan's housing area called ph Pastry House. Nice cozy chill out spot, though the food is a bit pricey. We had beef wellington and lamb shank and washed it all down with a chilled bottle of white wine.

So what did we do for Valentine's 2014? Since I've been so busy lately and so was Ryan with work, and my office being so far from home now, that we couldn't really cook together because I will be home too late if we were to go grocery shopping together. So he decided to finish up his work early and go shopping (the perks of doing sales) for my present and our dinner.

He prepared a hearty steak with boiled potatoes and baby carrots for dinner! He did well, the steak was perfectly cooked, although it was a little bit too salty because he put a little too much sea salt when seasoning. But good effort! I need to ask him to cook for me more often!
