The Return of Paramore 17th Feb 2013

Paramore has returned to perform in KL! Organized by Livescape and TuneTalk. Definitely not a band to be missed! Initially I was sort of undecided on whether I should go for the concert since I've been to 2 Paramore concert in Singapore back in March 2010, and then when they came to KL in October 2010. And since I'm getting married this year, I didn't want to splurge too much on concerts.

My sis, Jenn, being the huge Paramore fan she is, bought her ticket almost immediately and was planning to go on her own which got me worried. Then she offered to pay half for my ticket cause she knows that I'm trying to be careful with my spendings this year. So we are all set and waiting for the awesome day to arrive!

Before the concert

On 10th February 2013, I received an email that caused to immediately to jump up from my seat in shock! I got an invitation from Paramore Fan Club(PFC) for an opportunity to a meet and greet with Paramore! No frigging way! I thought I was dreaming, I immediately took a screenshot before reading the whole email.

I kept opening up this email just to ensure that I wasn't dreaming!

However I wasn't allowed to bring any guest with me, but I still replied the email asking if I could bring my sister along, but they didn't respond to my question so I just got to wait till the concert day.

The day of the concert!

The day has finally arrived! Super nervous and excited, Jenn and I made our way to the concert venue, Stadium Negara at about 3.30pm. We were expecting like a looong queue but it's wasn't, so we hung out and bum around waiting for it to be 5pm, since it's the time I'm suppose to be waiting for the PFC representative to come find me. But I had NO IDEA where I was suppose to wait, I couldn't even find the PFC Meet & Greet sign. So I started to panic at around 5.15pm, so I figured that I should look out for a matsalleh and Jenn spotted a guy running around with a walkie talkie so we chased after him and tap him on his shoulder, "Excuse me, are you from the PFC?" and he said the most awesome thing! "I've been looking for you guys! Now follow me closely. Let's go!"

He escorted us to the entrance of the stadium and disappeared then reappeared saying "Looks like it's just you, are you the one that emailed in about your sister?" and I was like "Yup, but she doesn't have an invitation". He just said "Naaah it's fine, let's go!" I can't describe how nervous and excited Jenn and I was!

The PFC guy, I think his name was William (I didn't quite catch his name but Jenn says she heard someone call him William), was really nice to us as he told all the crew and security that we were to meet the band first! He then took us to a room which looked like the interview room and instructed everyone to leave, because it was to be an exclusive meet and greet for fan club members only.

I then noticed that it was really only Jenn and I, which was so unbelievable so I asked him if we were really the only ones? He said yes, and that it was very rare opportunity, also that we were very privilege because we get to have about 5 minutes of private personal time to chat with the band! Just right at that moment Paramore came into the room!! I was too star struck for words as Hayley was shouting out "Hi guys!" I almost forgot my name when Taylor came over to shake my hand, followed by Haley and Jeremy. I could not stop staring!

Those few minutes felt like a dream, but it was reality. I managed to crochet an orange bear for Hayley, but couldn't finish the grey and brown ones for Taylor and Jeremy in time. Hayley could not believe that I actually made it, she was so shocked saying "You really made it? No way! Wow! Thanks!" and tried to pin it on her pants but gave up and set it aside as we were running out of time.

After the autograph and photograph session, it was time for us to leave, but nothing says goodbye and see you soon better than some warm hugs. Call me crazy but I think I had all their perfume and body spray all over me and I smelled nice. Haha!

We then finally had to say our goodbyes as the PFC guy escorted us out of the room and told us to stay put as he went to talk with the crew and security again. Apparently we get to into the concert area first! Just as Jenn and I waited patiently at the entrance, we caught a glimpse of Hayley informing one of the crew to take the gifts back to the hotel, she turned and waved at us XD and yes! I saw that my orange bear was among the gifts! Oh joy! We were then informed to enter the concert hall, which was empty except for the security and MeWithoutYou doing their sound check 

We had to wait till MeWithoutYou finish their sound check before we could go in.

Let's start the party!

Standing in front of the stage with spotlights blaring at our faces sure made Hayley, Taylor and Jeremy look like an Angels on earth. The spotlights were being mean to my iphone, I could not get a clear shot of their faces. At times like this I wish I had invested in a good camera, and that my eyes were the camera. I decided to put my iphone away after taking only a few picture so I could enjoy and absorb the whole experience fully, capturing all the mental images my brain can handle.

As Hayley always say, headbanging is crucial!

The chemistry and closeness of house the band interacted each other was so beautiful, as Taylor patiently waits on Hayley's signal to start singing 'Landslide'

Being right in front of the stage was truly magical as I could see all the emotions on Hayley's face each time the crowd sings back to her. She looked almost closed to tears when she sang "The Only Exception" and "In The Mourning". Even I was almost close to tears as she looked down at Jenn and I and winked.

I love you Paramore!

It's quite obvious that this blog post is really long, and it would be even longer if I did not control myself. I left out quite a lot details of the whole meet and greet session, like what we chatted about and how we were all smiling like idiots and stuff. God really is wonderful for letting us have this opportunity, and I am forever grateful to Paramore and the Paramore Fan Club staff. I am also so thankful that Jenn introduced me to Paramore by sending me "Misery Business" YouTube link, let us forever go to their concerts together each time they come back to KL. I pray that they will! So glad I decided to join the club 2 years ago! I recorded a couple of videos, but let's save it for the next blog post. :)
